Welcome to Think Alexander
Think Alexander is based in Rosanna, a northeastern suburb of Melbourne.
Through individual and group lessons, Think Alexander teaches a unique and intelligent approach to wellbeing, pain management and performance that is gentle and fun to learn.
This approach is called the Alexander Technique, an educational process that supports health and wellbeing by recognising and changing habitual patterns of tension that are interfering with movement, posture and breathing.
Learning the Technique is a method by which we can discover how thinking and moving interact, how habits can interfere with ease and freedom in activity and, more importantly, how to change them.
The strengths of the technique are that it:
- develops skills that help to deal with poor posture, pain, disability and stress
- improves performance of any activity
- does not require exercises, equipment or a regimented approach
- is a self-management strategy for chronic pain
- offers a gentle pathway to regaining poise in activity, leading to a more balanced way of being
Medical studies have shown that the Alexander Technique provides longstanding benefits for people suffering with back, neck and knee pain. The Technique can also be applied to improve breathing, vocal use, skill and performance in sports, recreation and the arts as well as enhancing workplace health and general wellbeing in all age groups.
If you would like to improve your balance and posture and be able to move more freely, with reduced levels of pain and much more energy think about exploring a unique approach……….Think Alexander.
